2008 Recital Dress Rehearsals Friday, May 16th

DRESS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY
Rehearsal for Performance #1 4:00-5:30
Rehearsal for Performance #2 5:30-8:00
Rehearsal for Performance #3 8:00-10:00

*Company members will not rehearse any numbers in rehearsal #1!!

This is a Full Dress Rehearsal.  This means that you Must come "Fully Dressed" for rehearsal, with your Make-up & Hair done and with your Costume on appropriately.
Be On Time by arriving no earlier than 30 minutes before rehearsal times!! 
This is a Team Effort.
*Each Rehearsal is expected to last 2 - 2 1/2 hours, except rehearsal #1.
We will make every effort to make the rehearsal run quickly & smoothly!
* If you are late then you will disrupt everyone's schedule, causing others to run behind.
* When it's your time to rehearse you Must Be Ready or we'll have to go on without you.  We know that you know your routine(s), but we want you to get comfortable with the stage, lighting, surroundings, etc.
* All backstage volunteers will receive backstage pass at the Rehearsal meeting.  Signs will be posted to help everyone.  Ex: Dressing Rooms, Entrance & Exit Doors, Off Limit Areas, etc.
* Students and Parents need to address the "Crew" for any questions or assistance, as Ms. Christie & the other Instructors will be too busy to stop rehearsal.
* We need volunteers to be "Stage Moms" during Rehearsal and Recital.  You'll have time to go out front to watch your child.  Sign up in the Front Studio Lobby.
*Dancers may leave after rehearsing all routines.
Please, only 1 parent should wait for students during the dress rehearsal.  If you would like to bring a guest, tickets are available for $3.00

WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS!
Please sign up in the office.  All volunteers will receive backstage information the week before the recital.
We can't do this without you!

Auditorium Etiquette
1. Please turn off all cell phones!
2. Please try to stay seated for the entire performance, if you must leave the auditorium please wait to do so in between performances. 
3. Applaud each dancer.
4. Please do not walk across the front of the stage area.  This is distracting to the dancers and blocks the view for the audience!
5. No video cameras are allowed during any performance.  You may video your child during dress rehearsal if you have received a video badge from the studio. 
6. Photography is allowed from your seat.

Spring Recitals - Saturday, May 17th

Arrive NO EARLIER than 30 minutes Before Show Time.  The Civic Center will be closed to audience members until 30 minutes before showtime!

* Be Dressed & Ready to go on for your 1st number.
* Arrive with your hair & make up ALREADY done!
*Stack tights if you have more than one costume change!
*No dancers are allowed to sit in the audience "in costume"!
* No Tap or Clogging shoes are to be worn in the Audience, Lobby or Hallways.
* All dancers must Wear some type of cover up over costumes.
* No Gum, Candy or Drinks while wearing your Recital Costume.
*Dancers will remain backstage for the entire performance!

** Make sure that you have ALL of your Accessories, Costumes, Shoes, EVERYTHING you may need BEFORE you get to the Auditorium!

** Label ALL of your belongings.  We are Not responsible for any Lost or Stolen items.

Hair & Headpieces:
* You will receive a descriptive letter as to which costume to wear & info about All of the accessories for each individual class and student.
* ALL dancers' hair should be pulled back into a well-secured bun.  Unless told otherwise.  Pull hair into a ponytail at the crown of the head & wrap in a bun.  NO BANGS!
* Use Gel, Hairspray or Glue* to make sure hair is slick back.  That means NO wisps, fly-a-ways, etc.  Secure headpieces with LOTS of bobby pins.  Please see

Ms. Christie if you have a short hair style!

Make-Up: Think NATURAL!!
* Base/Foundation & Powder - First 2 products to apply; match as close as possible to your child's Natural Skin tone; Please NO Orange; try to find a Moisturizing base/foundation, this will keep it from looking "caked" on & much more natural and more comfortable for you child to wear; Blend Well; No Lines; Apply face powder after you apply your base/foundation, then again before applying mascara, last
* Eye Liner - Define eyes with a Brown or Black liner.  Not Thick! Natural
* Eye Shadow - a Small amount of neutral colors (Browns or Grays); NO Blue or Bright Colors
(tip: for light or thin eyebrows, liner or eye shadow can be applied to bring them out or fill them in; Not too thick & Not too Dark)
* Lips - Natural Reds/Pinks; NO Bright Reds or Hot Pinks
(tip: if foundation is applied to lips Before liner & lipstick, it will last longer.  Make sure lips aren't chapped also)
* Cheeks - Natural Pinks/Plums; Blend Well; Please No Orange
* Mascara - we ask that all ages have on at least a little; & this should be the last product you apply
*Ages 3 - 5 need only apply cheek and lip color, only apply mascara if you are able.

Remember, we want our students to look natural on stage; Our Goal is only, to Define & Bring out your child's Natural Beauty!  The bright stage lights usually tend to wash out Dancers' Faces.
Videos & Cameras:
In consideration of our spectators, students & parents, we do NOT allow private video cameras.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  If one person were allowed then we would have to allow everyone to set-up. (Imagine the Chaos!)  We feel ALL the attention should be on our students who have worked VERY hard to perform for you!  You may video the Dress Rehearsal, ONLY, if you have purchased a Video from Action Video, 297-8865.  We would like to have 2 digital cameras recording this year, as this is the only way to add close ups, different angle options & better viewing quality for you.  If interest is minimal, only 1 camera will be available and the above mentioned quality options will not be possible.  This will be based on Video Pre-Orders.  Video will be available for $30 (VHS) and $35 (DVD). 
Keep an eye out for order forms!  Deadline to purchase videos is May 16th! 
*Photography will be allowed!

ALL BALANCES MUST BE PAID BY MAY 10TH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RECITAL!!

We ask that you waste NO TIME purchasing your tickets, in the past, we have sold out Before the Recital.  End Result:  Tickets have not been available at the door & many have Missed Out!

Anyone who occupies a seat will need to purchase a ticket; this keeps us from selling more tickets than seats.

** All Accounts Must be paid in Full by May 10th, to participate in the recitals.
 (This includes; late fees, NSF fees, Costume Fees, Tuition, tights, competition fees, private lessons, Etc) 
There are NO Exceptions.

Each family receives 2 FREE tickets for the recital.  FREE tickets will be distributed at the time each account is paid in full for the season.

Trophies:
Students will receive trophies during class time the week of the recitals.
